01

Separate advertising spend from the complete cost

Your media budget is the amount spent on advertising. The complete project may also include campaign management, landing-page work, creative production, measurement tools and applicable taxes. Ask for these items separately so you can compare proposals on the same basis. A media budget alone does not describe the cost of running a useful test.

Also consider the time needed to answer and qualify enquiries. If your team cannot handle additional calls, buying more traffic may not solve the problem. The budget should fit both your acquisition economics and the number of customers you can realistically serve.

02

Use a hypothetical example to check the arithmetic

Suppose a test spends ₹15,000 on ads, with an assumed ₹50 average cost per click. That would buy 300 clicks. If 5% of those clicks became recorded enquiries, the calculation would produce 15 enquiries and a ₹1,000 advertising cost per enquiry.

If only 40% of those enquiries met your qualification criteria, that would mean six qualified leads at ₹2,500 each. These figures are made-up planning inputs, not Arrowverse prices, industry benchmarks or a forecast. Actual click costs, conversion rates and lead quality can vary substantially. The point is to see which assumptions your plan depends on.

03

Test what happens when assumptions change

In the same ₹15,000 example, a ₹75 click cost buys 200 clicks. At a 3% enquiry rate, that produces six enquiries rather than 15. This is a sensitivity check: a change in traffic cost and page performance can materially change the outcome even when the advertising budget stays the same.

Work backwards from your own economics as well. If you could afford ₹4,000 in advertising per new customer and one in four qualified leads became a customer, the implied advertising allowance would be ₹1,000 per qualified lead. This is another hypothetical calculation. It excludes other acquisition costs and depends on the conversion rate holding.

04

Understand the average daily budget

A Google Ads average daily budget is not necessarily a strict daily spending cap. Google states that, for most campaigns, the daily spending limit is twice the average daily budget and the monthly spending limit is 30.4 times that budget. Starting mid-month or changing budgets affects the calculation.

For an unchanged ₹500 average daily budget throughout a full month, the standard monthly calculation is ₹15,200. Review the actual campaign’s budget report and settings before launch; campaign exceptions can apply. See Google’s official explanation of spending limits for the current rules.

05

Give the test a clear scope and review point

Choose one service, a sensible service area and a relevant landing page. Estimate available demand and click costs before setting the amount. A very small budget split across many campaigns can make the results difficult to interpret. Conversely, a large budget cannot repair an offer that visitors do not understand.

Confirm that conversions record correctly, then review search relevance, enquiry quality and follow-up outcomes. Allow for the time customers normally take to decide. Avoid judging a campaign only by the first few leads, and agree when to pause, revise or continue the test. Our landing-page checklist covers the destination before you buy more visits.

06

What information should you share for a budget discussion?

Bring your service area, priority offer, typical transaction value, approximate margins, sales capacity and any existing campaign results. If you do not have historical conversion rates, say so; an honest test plan can work with explicit uncertainty. Keep account access and billing responsibilities clear from the start.
